Hi everybody, this is our blog to practise writing comenting this novel. Do you think that Richard Hannay will have an exciting time after meeting Scudder??
Rodrigo, a very good try but... I would like to read the second ... to know what happenS. Yes I agree that the beginning is promising, let's see if we are not disappointed.
Rodrigo: If you want to know that will happen in the chapter two, you should go to class next day, because, unfortunaletely I must explain to us what happened (although it would be better you read the chapter, if you really wanted to know.
Carlos, I must explain to everybody.., it would be better for you..., Honestly Carlos, I'm sure you are going to do it well! And at least you will practise. You come to learn and learning is an effort! Well and what is your opinion anyway?? Writting is a very important skill to master, so come on do it here!
Marta, thanks for the gerund. Well, in my opinion, This chapter only confirms that some people are watching him and he escapes to Scotland. It confirms too he has the capacity to resolve complicate situations but, I'm still waiting for more exciting things.
Marta, thanks for your corrections. I know that learning a language is hard. But let me complain a bit After class today I promise to give my opinion of the book
Rodrigo, you are wellcome. The capacity to solve complicated situations.., I agree with you, suddenly the bored man turns into someone exciting and I agree with you too that I am still waiting for something more exciting.... Does Scotland seem promising
Carlos, you are wellcome, ...after today's class. Where is your complaint?? Of course you can complain but I don't see it. What about the class, was it terrible
Hi, I read the chapter three and I think Mr. Hannay is a lucky man because everybody who he founds in his way wants help him althoug they don't know him. Marta, how about the pronouns?
Rodrigo, ...everybody whom he found in his ways wanted to help him, although..., The pronouns fine well done. I agree with you. Isn't it a little strange that everybody does so??? I thought the Scottish were close, but this contradicts my idea.
Hi, everybody. I have read de third chapter.I like how Richard discover the cypher that Mr. Scudder used for writting on his little black book. The key word for the vowels is "Julia". Julia Czechenyi is a name that Scudder said it was important in the plot. The "j" is the "a", the "u" is the "e", the "l" is de "i" and so on. But there are more. The "j" is the tenth letter of the alphabet, thats mean that the "a" is represented by X. Really, I can´t understand how anybody can find out something like this. It is necesary a lot of imagination to do it.
Richard Hanney is the main character of the novel but this character is not credible: He was bored of his life in London until he meet a crazy man -Mr Sccuder- who tell him a incredible story. If you were bored you wouldn't implicate in a crime, you would make a crossword or you would have a look at english book (this last is incredible too).
Hi...I was reading the book and I tried to figured out the way the author is going to continue with his story, but it is very difficult, because I couldn´t believe all the things that he wrote .I know that it is no real, but the story has more fiction than reality. I don´t understand in what way he gets all the things that he heeds for to live . and I disagree with the decision of Hannay. I believe that it is better that he tells the true to the policemen .
Hi classmates, I agree with Alicia, the most interesting thing in the novel is when Hannay found to Skuder´s key word "JULIA". At the same time I imagine the police film of spies throughout shortly before World War First. Bye, have a nice weekend and see you on Tuesday Cristina I-2-C
I think Richard is a very luky man so far.Firsly, he meets a stupid and ambitious person, the milkman, who believes the absurd tale that he told him. Secondly, when he is in Scotland, where he has run off, Richard finds a couple of owners of a cottage, in moorland, that offer him rest in their home.thirly, he meets a joung and naive innkeeper, who want to be a wrriter and only distrusts in normal things. Perhaps,if the innkeeper wouldn't have been so ingenuous, Richard would have already caught by Police or Scudder's enemies.
For me this book is still difficult to read and very heavy. Why? Because all the people here is crazy! First, a bored man agrees to hear a crazy story, he believes it. Secondly, he help a man who he does not know to do a fiction dead. Now he is a criminal! And thirdly, who accepts an absurde bet for changing your cloth whith a stranger when you are working? Was the milkman drunk?
I haven´t opinion about the book. Mr. Hanney runs away and runs away from one place to another place and I notice that nothing happens. He has found many people on the way who help him but they don´t contribute anything to the story. May be I don´t understand it. At first, I liked it but now I´m losing interest. The code which he has discovered, at this moment, doesn´t tell me anything. I´m waiting for something else.
If i were Richard Hannay i would enjoy London more because if you had been in london before., you will know that this city is a wonderful city full of places to discover and explore but maybe this story deserves so let's read it more! Guillermo del Valle I2C

Perhaps I don't enjoy the novel because I have never read spy novel, I am not interested in this kind of literature. The first chapter didn't catch my attention because I really didn't understand the participation of different countries in the political plot (Greecs, Russians, Germans, and also jews!....) well I think the author wants to present us the political situation just before the world war..., but it doesn't add anything in the following chapters about it, only different characters who appear and disappear, and they have one thing in common: they are naive because they help Richard without wonder what they will happen then. I have decided to try enjoy the way that a man persecuted by killers and the police too tries to solve every complicated situation and then he realizes that every decision has been a mistake because it doesn't work (run away through the moors, -it is dificult to hide in this scenery, stealing his persecutor's car -it easy for the police to find him...)

Hi everybody! I think about Hannay... There is the story about a man on the run. When Hannay decides to continue Scudder's work... and it was the beginning of adventures. But, why he was many adventures where the events are unlikely? It seems that the autor's emotions when he wrote the Hannay's story. John Buchan wrote this novel while he was ill in bed with a duodenal ulcer, and illness which remained with him all his life. Also the Hanay's story was very creative. Well, his novelist was historian and Unionist politician who serverd as Governor General of Canada. Buchan had a lot of experience in his life. So I understand better the story and the protagonist after than I know about the author's story.
I think that this novel made history because the plot was very original. Afterwards the argument was cheated for others novelists. I saw a lot of films that the script is a man running on the road and clambing mountains and keeping away for something. As well as the novel is an example of a character who is an ordinary man putting his country's interested before his own safety.
I don't like a lot of the novel and I don't enjoy with her. In the first chapter, the author describes the situation political of various countries before the Second World War. In the following chapters the author describes characters that appear and disappear and they are innocent. I don't understand how they don't enjoy most of the City of London. I hope that at the end I end up liking.
We are already in the third chapter and I still want to emphasize how the author goes around the same subject delaying the final result. The author is entertaining himself describing the protagonist´s thoughts and mean while he keeps us intrigued with the real story.
We know the 39 steps is famous book for several films, including the brilliant version directed by Alfred Hitcock. The most famous scene about the movie star running by through the fields pursued by an airplane. I don´t like a lot of the novel and I don´t enjoy with it. For me it is bored and unusual in some describes characters.
First of all, I've just been reading the comments and I have seen an horrible mistake in my comment. I always forget the "s" in the verb with the third person of singular. Is "Richard discoverS" and "that meanS". I'm sure that there are more mistakes, but I only know this one. About Ana's comment, I haven't seen that Hitchcock's film, but I have seen another called "Con la muerte en los talones". In that film, there is a similar scene with a man runing in the moorland and chased by an aeroplane. Really, Hitchcock was impressed by this part of the novel.
Hello everybody. My God! I spend half an hour reading your opinions, and I can see that people don't like very much the novel. Well, I finished the chapter four, and... Imagin you have an accident and the person who rescue you think you are other person and you go with him to a meeting. In that meeting the things he says, you think there are rubbish, and, when both of you come back HIS HOME, you decide tell him you are completely disagree with him. He can't believe the words you are telling him, but decide help you when you just have told him you are not the person who he think and you are wanted for murder. You continous telling a strange story about politicians conspirations . HE BELIEVES YOU, and decide to write a letter to HIS GODFATHER, who is a very important person working in the Foreign Office... FOR A GODNESS SHAKE!!! All of that coincidences are making me crazy. See you in the next chapter.
I can´t believe... Hannay is a very lucky person, because he always find people who help him . he saved his life when he jumped before the car went into the river.I don´t know, the author had a great imagination when he wrote his book. Do you believe this story ?It´s incredible when a stranger man appeared in the exact time that Hannay needed someone helped him. I think the authot needs tobe more creative and credibly.
Rodrigo, I spent...don't like the novel very much..., the person who rescueS you thinkS..., another person..., you think the things he says in the meeting are rubbish.., to tell him...,you disagree with him completely.., he decideS to help you..,whom he thinkS..., you continue...,for goodness'sake.., those coincidences... Careful with the s towards the end you finally get the structure well done. Well how about this explanation: is it possible that the said person is intelligent after all and a good character judge? Because some people are intelligent and see things before others. So this man seems a good for nothing, only interested in sports and having a good life standard as he comes from a good family, but.... he is intelligent and sees that what Hannay is telling him is possible. Hannay is also intelligent and sees this so he tells him the story. Two intelligent people it seems...
Lady in red, believe it.., he always findS..,a stranger appeared...someone to help him..., Maybe you are right about that though it is true that sometimes we do find help in the last minute. We must also take into account that we are prepared for coincidences in novels and that this novel is not a masterpiece so it has some deficiencies. What do the rest think? Do you find it has too many coincidences? We have to think that Richard looked respectable and spoke with the right accent that is reassuring.
Las tweek, a classmate said that Richard Hannay' story was no credible. Our teacher replied that,at that time, people were helpful and they realized he were a gentleman. Also, Marta told us how Red Baron was died. What a pity! There are very few gentlemen currently. If politicians had to be it countries were conducted better. There wouldn't be so many problems,in the whole wide world, and we could trust them.
Sorry! I've just seen a mistake in my comment, when I've read it again. I wanted to say "If politicians had to be it countries WOULD BE conducted better.
Carmen, that R.Hannay's story was not credible.., he was a gentlemen..., the Red Baron died.., if politicians were their countries would be better led.., Well done for correcting yourself. I couldn't agree more with what you say. The loss of values that we are suffering today is very sad and worrying. Our politicians, not all of them, are certainly not gentlemen and very little worried about the general interests because what really matters to them is their own. How is that going to change? I'm afraid it is very difficult to change for now the loss of values is practically complete. What do the rest of you think?
I have just finished reading Chapter 5 and now I think that the aim of the author is to describe the country!. He enjoys recount every glen, every river and every hill that Richard can see!!!! The plot continues the same, an other character appear and disappear immediatly. I wish Buchan had described the different characters in the same way or just a little. And of course the story is always the same: he meet people who help him in any circunstance. Every chapter I read is the same, I am not able to remember what happened because, in my opinion, it doesn't happen anything interesting. Pherpas the succes of the novel was the film adaptation, or perhaps we have wait the last chapters to understand the story...
About the lost of values, I think that it is very dificult to changes it inmediatly but only if we try it we'll get on. The education is the principal way to do it. But usually, we think that the school is the only place where chids must be educated, and we are wrong about that. The children learn good or bad behaviours at home, with their parents, with their friends, while their are watching TV, reading books...We have to take advantage of this and we must think that any moment is a high time for teaching values. Only in that way, our children could change the world tomorrow.
I have finished the fourth chapter. However, Richard is always a very lucky man. If the Roadman had appeared in the road, when the bad men were interviewing to Richard, he would have been died. At the end of the chapter, we can see a very important change in Richard's behaivour. He seemed to enjoy threatening Mr. Jopley. Maybe, if he continued runing away he would became a liar or even a professional burglar.
Esther, he enjoys describing.., another character appearS and disappearS..., he meetS people who help him..., nothing interesting happenS..., we have to wait..., Don't forget the S and keep to the structure S+V+O+A, ok? I couldn't agree more! You describe the story perfectly. That is exactly what I feel, only the country interests him, and the characters not so much. I also find it difficult to follow the story which ends up being a series of characters that come and go, the only story I have liked so far is the one about the young man with the uncle in the foreign office.
Alicia, to change... to try to.., education is.., school.., where children.., children learn.., while they are watching TV.., any moment is a good one to.., only in that way can children learn.. the future world. I agree with you, school can help but it is not there where we learn all the values, though some we do provided the school has them! Because there are some schools that do have values, don't you think?
Alicia, on the road.., interviewing Richard..., he would have been died means: el hubiera sido muerto. I don't understand what you mean. Neither in English nor in Spanish does it make sense. Don't complicate the structure or the tenses, English is simpler... I agree with what you say, he is indeed a lucky man, one wonders if not too lucky
Hi everybody, I remembered that last class we spocke about fasionable drinks. I would like to recommend your for this Christmas or for any special ocassion to visit "Bristol Pub" very close to the school. I discovered Bristol a few years ago and I was impresed by the atmosphiere there. You can have a nice drink and also chat with native English people. My favourite drink is Gin and Tonic, G´Vine and Fever Tree tonic that I surely recommend you because of its flavour and the sweet touch. It will be on unfergetable experience for you. Have a nice weekend and see you on Tuesday. Cristina I-2-C
I am reading the boring novel and I feel like if I had taking a bitter syrup, but my doctor ,Marta, has advised it to me and I must obey her. If I had been in her place I wouldn't had advised this book. Marta, please, change it ! I am sure that all our class considere it as your better gift Christmas. :)
Cristina, thank you for the post, I recommend it to you.., I know it and I agree with you it is a nice place and in. I think it is in Almirante, or one of those streets so it is quite conveniently located. I think we should all visit it specially as one can talk to English people, I was not aware of that. If anybody knows of another such place please tell us about it.
Carlos, I couldn`t agree more, but don't you think that we might as well finish it now that we are half way through'?? The only good thing about it is that it is not long so, I know that if you get down to doing it you will read it quickly and then we can try and read another novel ok? There are only 20 pages left and don't bother about the vocabulary of Nature. It won't be so hard then. I didn't choose the novel, it was the department. I wanted to read the importance of being Ernest, by O. Wilde.
Hi everybody. There is a long time you don't have notice about me. I'm really sorry, but I promise you I'm going to try to write as much as I can... Well, I have read the chapters 5th and 6th, and, at last, the story is finishing. In those chapters Mr. Hannay was captured and escaped again, and he arrived to his meeting with the person of the Foreign Office, and all his problems have been rersolved. Nothing new. See you soon...
Marta, I'll make use of your coment. Really, there is no women in the novel. I only remember two women, and both were at home, making dinner and those things "typical". I think that when you read a novel, you have to take into account the date it was written. In this case, in 1915, women were very far from political affeirs or political plots.
I agree with you Marta. If there were women in the novel it would be more interesting. I think that women's character is usually complicated and this would make the story were more exiting.
At last! Christmas has been completed! I hate Christmas, a lot of meets, a lot of family, a lot of all!! But I whis you the best for this new year, and I hope that the wise men have brought more gifts for you than for me.
Hi everybody. Come on! only lack two chapters to finish the novel!. I have finished the chapter VIII... and I don't understand who the hell is Royer??? why does he go to France? what's hapen in France?. There is a german spy in London but I don't understand how they will discover him. See you on thursday.
Pepito, a lot of meetings...; we will meet on Thursday. I have to say that I agree with you, I don't like Xmas at all, I think that for children it is fine but once you grow up......
Marta, I think that women are always interesting. Women have improved a lot their social position in the past century even obeying the men's rules. But, we still haven't finished the fight because there are women who daren't do what they would like yet. About the novel, I am very disappointed with it. ¡The 39 steps were really steps! I hoped somethig more exciting... See you on thursday.
Alicia, I agree wirh you on both comments. We have advanced a lot and men have helped us, we can't deny that, but we have to do more. Somebody in one of the other classes said that Soraya, the vice-president, has been criticised by women for having taken only 10 days of maternity leave, by women! How is that possible???? Why don't they criticise their husband for not taking the maternity leave himself? And the men, of course, saying nothing, they are cleverer. Yes what a disappointment the 39 steps means! What a novel!
In order to practise, I suggest we write about topics that crop up in the class or news or that we propose. Here is the first
Shall we read something or stick to the boring book? Only write a couple of sentences saying what you think and then propose a topic that interests you ik?
Hello, I am not sure if my reply will be appropiate or not because I don´t know the purpose of your question. Anyway, I will do my best. If you are refering to The Woman in White I do read the book. In fact, the book is more interesting than expected. On the other hand, I also recognize some relevant details as you raised yesterday about Mr. Fairlie´s narrative passed out from my side. I hope above it was succesful. As for, new topic, I lay under the table, Spanish brand. In the last weeks, we have listen to about it, so, Is Spanish brand just something based on joy, party as the teacher pointed or we spansh are able to export "know how"? See you!
Julian, you are on the wrong place, this is the blog for the I2s anything you post has to be on the A1s'. I really hope it was successful? Is that what you mean?? I'm not sure, U lay on the table..., we have heard this lately..., fun and parties or we, the Spanish, able to..., You can join this blog too if you want, it's fine, but to talk about the woman in white we have to do it in the other.... ok?
Julian suggests a topic, fine. I am going to give my opinion. We are capable of doing things well, but we have been told that everything is free and that effort is not necessary and this is our creed at the moment. We are in great nees of change in mentality and until this happens we are not going to move forward, we want to have everything with the minimum effort and that is impossible, things cost.
So what do you think? This is the topic. IS SPAIN JUST FIT FOR FUN AND PARTIES OR ARE WE ABLE TO DO THINGS WELL?
I think that talk about topics is a good excuse for writing on the blog. About the topic that Marta porpose; of course that spanish people are able to do things well! but it's true, today the effort is not a value. People prefer the things fast and easy. This way of life, is a very important obstacle to overcome the economic crisis. Bye.
I agree with our teacher,Marta. Spanish people's mentality must change.Although, I'm afraid, it won't happen, suddenly, because a politician say it. I wonder about who are, essentially, in charge of a country. It's clear, political leaders, and,a little, common people. It's supposed that if you rule a nation you'll have to educate people and not to offer them rubish, and, then, say, indirectly, they're lazy. I wish politicians concern about educating people instead of making a killing in their business
I just want to say something about The Woman in White: I have feeling admiration for Laura because she has been courageous when she decided to travel alone for meeting with her sister. But nobody knows what future Laura will have in London. And how will her reaction be when she finds out the true?
Alicia, that talking.., Marta proposeS.., prefer things fast and..., I agree, with that mentality it is impossible to do anything and also outside they are going to get the impression that we do not do things properly and that is bad too.
Carmen, a politician sayS it.., politicians would be concerned..., Yes, education is the most important thing one can get in life, and now many people think that money is the most better. This in another thing that has to change in Spain, we have one of the worst education programmes in Europe and if we don't improve it we will never manage to get over this crisis properly. The politicians are also, in general very bad. They seem to be interested in making money more than in other things and that applies to many people, let's just think of Urdangarín!!!
Gloria, alone to meet.., I agree, the strength of the union between Laura and Marian is great and she shows courage. Please write in your section, what's wrong? Can't you post in the other?
Anonimo, well it is nice, it shows that we can be happy anywhere, as my father has always said. But try and link your comment with the topic ok? We have to have a guide.
I found Frederick Fairlie's part of the book absolutely delightful. Poor Mr. Fairlie, he thought that once he had Laura married, he was finally left alone. How wrong was he!!! He is still going to be upset for a while...
13/02 Pablo Advanced 1-F Hello. What happen with Sir Percival? He is mad and drunk! I know he is not a good person but I never thought he would threat Laura in that way, so rude, nothing polite… I really don’t like Sir Percival.
Pablo, Well done, no mistakes!! You are right about Sir Percival something horrible must have happened, I hope we will discover what. Please write in your section, ok?
Hello everybody. Excused me but I have been lately missed of the block. About Urdangarin, if he is guilty he must go to prison. But the Tribunal is who has to sentence his guiltily. Of course, people can give their opinion. Really, it is a very sad new in this time of economic crisis, because he has made use of his power for being more and more rich. See you on tuesday.
I agree with Alicia: If he was found guilty he would have to go to prison, but I think the subject is other: is the law equal for all people?: The answer is not in my opinion. Another justice is administered to powerful and influential men. Did you remember the trial to Emilio Botin for assignments of credit in 1996?: even The Governments of Aznar and the PSOE have only agreed on one thing: seamless support to the President of the Santander. The same can be said of the press: El País and El Mundo spoken with one voice in defence of the banker.
Alicia, excuse me but I have been missing from the blog lately..., but it is the tribunal who has to sentence him.., sad news..., richer and richer.., I agree that it is the Court who has to find him guilty, but don't you think that he has commited some kind of fraud??? I am positive, or else how on earth did he buy that enormous expensive villa? He was certainly not a millionaire when he married the Infanta, so...
Carlos, the subject is another.., both the governments of..., You have a point, and if he had to go to prision well... fantastic. But Botín does a lot for the political parties it seems for what you say. He probably does a lot for the image of Spain in the world, I don't know, he is a private person. But the other belongs to the Royal family through marriage, he represents all the Spanish and as far as I can see has done nothing for any of us. The money is all in his pocket and he even cheated the disable children, he is the worst of the worst in my opinion and frankly I wouldn't mind being a republic! I am fed up with the whole lot.
I don't know what Emilio Botín has done for all us. Maybe now, it is a good moment to find out it, at this moment, time of crisis, unpaid mortgages, seizures, unemployment, tax evasion and so on. But the subject is not Emilio Botín. What I wanted to say is that only if you have the best lawyers you will be able to fully exploit the resources of the law, and ordinary people can't afford it.
Marta, I agree with you. Monarchy was necesary in Spain twenty years ago, but nowadays it isn't. It costs too much and it isn't useful at all. But the worst is that Urdangaring isn't a member of he Royal Family and he has used his position for earning easy money.
Carlos, you are welcome. for all of us.., to find out.., what I wanted to say was.., I agree with you on that, but the problem is that as the Royal Family's behaviour should be perfect if it is not so they should be forced to lose their rights and so far this is not the case.
Alicia, you are welcome. to earn..., I disagree, he is a member of the Royal Family through marriage and he has robbed, etc. being one of them. I think he and his wife should be deprived of both the money they have robbed and the rights to the Spanish crown.
Hello guys... What a wonderful subject. The Spanish Monarchy... What is the real work of them? The spaniards representation? If it were true, I understand why foreign people have this opinion of us.
Welcome Rodrigo. I don't understand what you want to say. What is the opinion of foreign people about us?. Alice: you are prejudging the Urdangarin(g)'s behavoir before he was judged. Marta: would you think same if you were talking about the British Monarchy? Do you think that this Monarchy have had a perfect behavior? On other hand the Spanish Monarchy is the cheapest of the all European Monarchies and maybe we would waste less money with a Parlamentary Monarchy than a Presidential Republic. I would please your comments
Rodrigo, what is their real work?... representing the Spanish?..., I don't understand why foreigners have this opinion of us.., Well, because our politicians are terrible too. They are corruptable and they often rob. And now the Royal Family does it too, what opinion are they going to have. The days of the hard working Spanish, who succeeded in bringing the country out of poverty with no help from the rich countries is long gone. Now we only want to live well without an effort.
Carlos, Urgameahi's behaviour before he has been judged..., I would like to know what you think about this. Here is what I think: I agree that maybe Monarchy is cheaper, but they have to be an example to follow. The Queen in London, the King with all sorts of mistresses and the children married to thieves and divorcees is not an example to be followed. There is no need to have anything, the Prime Minister can do everything or can't he?
Hi again. Marta, I don't understand the cuestion very well (You know I have problems with my reading comprension). I think that we have to learn about the situations that this crisis has made, and try to fix the general situation of everybody, not only for younger generations. And we only can fix it with commitment and hard work. It's true that the situation of younger generations is bad, very bad. They are the best prepared generation and the perspective of their future is very complicate
In our country, the media generally judge lightly without waiting for the judgement of Justice. If the facts attributed to Urdangarin were demonstrated I'd take his behavior unbecoming to a person of his position and morally reprehensible. Another different matter is our opinion on how the State should be. Now, introducing the topic is opportunistic.
New topic:
I agree on Rodrigo's opinion: the general situation of our country could be a great opportunity for all people, not just for young people. It is time for people with initiative and inventiveness.
You are very right!! I have not looked properly, sorry! Ok here it goes
Rodrigo, everybody's general situation.., the younger generations.., very complicated. Yes, we know all that but what the question asks: Is it a blessing? Well it could be a blessing as now they are a pampered generation, they have been given everything, they are only interested in having fun, they don't want to work a lot, they don't know what sacrifice or want is... so a bit of your are going to have to work and things cost, won't do them any harm! Do you agree?
Carlos, I agree with you I think there is still time and we can all be late bloomers and in that way I will be able to leave teaching and do something else!!!
Marta, There are people who want work hard and have a real commitment with the actual situation. The problem they have in this country is the companys, because they dont give oportunitis to the new generations and they prefer people who have experience. In this way, we never have new ideas to do the things really well. Its true they have been pampered and they are always interested in having fun, but I know people who started to work in american companys here, in Spain, and the commitment with work is real, so real that the company has look for better place and pay him masters to complete the curriculum.
The last saturday I was visiting the Natural Sciencies Museum with my daughter, and there, I saw a lot of animals whom have been hunted by aristocratic people or even by kings at the begining of the last century. Always hunt only have been a "privilege" for people who have had money and pay a lot of it for to have a head hunging in the walls of their houses. My daughter told me that she didn't like this museum, because she felt very sad seeing all this killed animals, and in fact, I felt the same as my daughter. The cuestion is: can money get all that they want and we have to look at other side? Nowadays is unbelievable that people continue having fun hunting, and is worst when they break a bone making it.
Rodrigo, want to work.., things..., American..., has lookED for a better place.., The last sentence is not clear. Who pays? There is no subject and whose curricula are they as you don't say. Yes you have a point but I still think that it is going to be better for them in the long run, it is going to be worse for us because nobody is going to pay our retirement! Those children we have pampered don't want to.
Rodrigo, last saturday.., who have been hunted..., hunting has always been a privilege.., a lot TO HAVE.., on the walls.., all these dead animals.., should we look in another direction..,it is unbelievable.., I don't understand, having for hunting.., and it is worse when they break a bone practising it. Rodrigo you have to write in a simpler way and check what you have written in order to correct mistakes. I disagree with what you say about the aristocracy hunting. I think it is the rich who hunt and often they are not aristocrats. Hunting is promoted by the countries where the animals are, as through that, they get money. Personally I don't hunt and don't like it. The question was, what do you think about the King's hunt? But I appreciate your comment all the same.
Sorry, Marta, I wrote very fast about the new topic and I forgot to check my notes. It was because my boss just came and brought me a lot of work and I wanted to finish quickly with the comment. Well, I hate hunting. I think in the past we needed to hunt for survive, but now... You are asking about the Kings hunt, and the answer its very easy. I am completely disagree, include if the King had paid the travel himself. But the truth is that he doesnt pay anything. He was invited by the Country, ok, but the plane, the assistants, the churri who was with him... All those things are paid by the people who suffer the cuts that the goverment is making. Now I understand the famous "copago". I pay and they enjoy the life
Rodrigo, to survive..., the answer is ..., I completely disagree.., including even that the king paid for it himself.., doesn't pay for anything..,enjoy life. I must say that you put it very well and I couldn't agree with you more, we all pay and they have the fun. This has to stop, how long are we going to put up with it? In Spain we stand everything I am afraid.
In my opinion both of things are necessary. The politicians have to save money, but not how they are doing now. They are earning money for different public administrations at the same time (working in a Council and being Senator, for example), and mostly of them aren’t there for to have great brains, they are only because they have a political card. This money they could invest it to create work places making infrastructures or things like that, and if they want to move the Spanish economy, the people needs a salary every month, and If they to have a salary “sure”, they start to buy things. And finally, the occidental way to life come back again to work like in the past. We have to take care with that way of life, because we buy thing that they aren’t necessary, and when we create dependence of that no necessary things, crisis like this one will appear again and again.

We are organizing a theatre outing for the 21st October, at 8pm worth 7 euros, in English, bring money those of you who want to go.
Hi everybody, this is our blog to practise writing comenting this novel.
Do you think that Richard Hannay will have an exciting time after meeting Scudder??
Where are your comments???? Please write, it is the best practice
Hi, everybody.
In my opinion, the novel can be interesting. I only read the first chapter and I'm wishing read the second, because I want to know what happen
Thanks, Carlos.
I've just finished to read the chapter two, but i will be glad to hear your explanation on Thursday
Carlos, I must explain to everybody.., it would be better for you...,
Honestly Carlos, I'm sure you are going to do it well! And at least you will practise. You come to learn and learning is an effort!
Well and what is your opinion anyway?? Writting is a very important skill to master, so come on do it here!
Rodrigo, I've just finished reading.., To finish takes the gerund ok?
And what is your opinion about the chapter??
Marta, thanks for the gerund.
Well, in my opinion, This chapter only confirms that some people are watching him and he escapes to Scotland. It confirms too he has the capacity to resolve complicate situations but, I'm still waiting for more exciting things.
Marta, thanks for your corrections.
I know that learning a language is hard.
But let me complain a bit
After class today I promise to give my opinion of the book
Rodrigo, you are wellcome.
The capacity to solve complicated situations..,
I agree with you, suddenly the bored man turns into someone exciting and I agree with you too that I am still waiting for something more exciting....
Sorry, I am the "Anonimo"
Rodrigo, ...everybody whom he found in his ways wanted to help him, although...,
The pronouns fine well done.
Hi classmates,
I agree with Alicia, the most interesting thing in the novel is when Hannay found to Skuder´s key word "JULIA".
At the same time I imagine the police film of spies throughout shortly before World War First.
Bye, have a nice weekend and see you on Tuesday

I think Richard is a very luky man so far.Firsly, he meets a stupid and ambitious person, the milkman, who believes the absurd tale that he told him. Secondly, when he is in Scotland, where he has run off, Richard finds a couple of owners of a cottage, in moorland, that offer him rest in their home.thirly, he meets a joung and naive innkeeper, who want to be a wrriter and only distrusts in normal things. Perhaps,if the innkeeper wouldn't have been so ingenuous, Richard would have already caught by Police or Scudder's enemies.
Sorry! I have seen a big error in my first comment that I've written. The last sentence should say : Richard would have already been caught......
Hi everybody!
My first comment here is comming!! jiji

Good night!! See you tomorrow :)
15th was the last day? I think I said the 14th but anyway since I can't remember I'll mark the ones before this message too, ok?
Lady in red, believe it.., he always findS..,a stranger appeared...someone to help him...,
Maybe you are right about that though it is true that sometimes we do find help in the last minute.
Carmen, that R.Hannay's story was not credible.., he was a gentlemen..., the Red Baron died.., if politicians were their countries would be better led..,
Well done for correcting yourself.
Esther, he enjoys describing.., another character appearS and disappearS..., he meetS people who help him..., nothing interesting happenS..., we have to wait...,
Don't forget the S and keep to the structure S+V+O+A, ok?
Hi everybody,
I remembered that last class we spocke about fasionable drinks.

Cristina, thank you for the post,
I recommend it to you..,
I know it and I agree with you it is a nice place and in.
Sorry, there are no women in the novel...
Hi everybody, Happy New Year!
Yes, the story is pretty much the same, quite unbelievable if you ask me!!
I agree with you Rodrigo.
Alicia, no women I think that makes the story much less interesting!!!
We will met on Tuesday! See you!
Cristina I-2-C
Hi everybody. Come on! only lack two chapters to finish the novel!. I have finished the chapter VIII... and I don't understand who the hell is Royer??? why does he go to France? what's hapen in France?. There is a german spy in London but I don't understand how they will discover him.
See you on thursday.
Alicia, I agree, women are more interesting, but in this century, before they were sometimes very uninteresting always obeying men!
Pepito, a lot of meetings...; we will meet on Thursday.
I have to say that I agree with you, I don't like Xmas at all, I think that for children it is fine but once you grow up......
Cristina, I am very sorry. Don't worry. A death is horrible even if the person is old.
Alicia, no wonder you don't understand!! Read it again because it is not clear!
I'm not sure,
U lay on the table..., we have heard this lately..., fun and parties or we, the Spanish, able to...,
You can join this blog too if you want, it's fine, but to talk about the woman in white we have to do it in the other....
I've just read my last comment again, and I've seen a mistake. I should have written:
I wish politicians CONCERNED about educating people...
I just want to say something about The Woman in White:
I have feeling admiration for Laura because she has been courageous when she decided to travel alone for meeting with her sister. But nobody knows what future Laura will have in London. And how will her reaction be when she finds out the true?
When I was a child I used to play
with dolls and I used to live in Lima. Now I got used to living in Madrid and I am used to speaking english.
Alicia, that talking.., Marta proposeS.., prefer things fast and...,
I agree, with that mentality it is impossible to do anything and also outside they are going to get the impression that we do not do things properly and that is bad too.
Carmen, a politician sayS it.., politicians would be concerned...,
Yes, education is the most important thing one can get in life, and now many people think that money is the most better.
Gloria, alone to meet..,
I agree, the strength of the union between Laura and Marian is great and she shows courage.
Nuria, yes it is funny, his life is complicated in spite of himself. Please use our section ok?

Pablo Advanced 1-F
Hello.
What happen with Sir Percival? He is mad and drunk! I know he is not a good person but I never thought he would threat Laura in that way, so rude, nothing polite…
I really don’t like Sir Percival.
Pablo,
Well done, no mistakes!! You are right about Sir Percival something horrible must have happened, I hope we will discover what.
Please write in your section, ok?
New theme:
Will Urdangarín go to prision? Does he deserve it?
Marta: what does prision mean?
Maybe you want say prison
Alicia, excuse me but I have been missing from the blog lately..., but it is the tribunal who has to sentence him.., sad news..., richer and richer..,
I agree that it is the Court who has to find him guilty, but don't you think that he has commited some kind of fraud???
I am positive, or else how on earth did he buy that enormous expensive villa? He was certainly not a millionaire when he married the Infanta, so...
Carlos, the subject is another.., both the governments of...,
You have a point, and if he had to go to prision well...
Marta: thanks for your corrections.
Carlos, you are welcome.
for all of us.., to find out.., what I wanted to say was..,
I agree with you on that, but the problem is that as the Royal Family's behaviour should be perfect if it is not so they should be forced to lose their rights and so far this is not the case.
Alicia, you are welcome.
to earn...,
I disagree, he is a member of the Royal Family through marriage and he has robbed, etc. being one of them.
Rodrigo, what is their real work?... representing the Spanish?..., I don't understand why foreigners have this opinion of us..,
Well, because our politicians are terrible too.
New Topic
The crisis is a blessing for the younger generations. Discuss
Marta: My opinion about the old topic:
Now we have a new topic. What do you think about the HUNT?
My God, worse and worse....
New topic. HUNT
Rodrigo, want to work.., things..., American..., has lookED for a better place..,
The last sentence is not clear. Who pays? There is no subject and whose curricula are they as you don't say.
Yes you have a point but I still think that it is going to be better for them in the long run, it is going to be worse for us because nobody is going to pay our retirement! Those children we have pampered don't want to.
Rodrigo, last saturday.., who have been hunted..., hunting has always been a privilege.., a lot TO HAVE.., on the walls.., all these dead animals.., should we look in another direction..,it is unbelievable..,
I don't understand, having for hunting..,
and it is worse when they break a bone practising it.
New topic,
What should we do, spend or save to get over the crisis?
Fantastic topic, Marta.
